Queensland Plants and Flowers (QPF), situated in Thornlands, Brisbane, faced high heating costs with its existing LPG-based system. In late 2016, Evo Energy Technologies intervened to replace QPF's outdated and inefficient wood-chip boiler and absorption chiller. The solution involved installing 12 EvoHeat CHV air to water heat pumps, providing a total of 1,680kW for hot and cold water distribution.
This upgrade transformed QPF's central energy plants, offering a low maintenance and energy-efficient solution for both chilling and heating their greenhouses. The new infrastructure not only reduced manual labor but also significantly cut down QPF's annual running costs, marking a successful collaboration towards achieving sustainable and cost-effective operational goals.
