The 3MW cogeneration project at Simplot Bathurst has been fully commissioned and has now reached project completion.
As part of a major capacity expansion, Simplot engaged Evo Energy Technologies to deliver a high-efficiency energy solution that could support increased production, reduce emissions, and lower reliance on grid power.
The installation combines three 1MW cogeneration units with a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), delivering reliable electricity, steam, and hot water directly to site operations. With the HRSG now fully certified, the system is operational at full capacity and ready to deliver the long-term performance benefits it was designed for.
The project also establishes a biogas-ready platform, giving Simplot the ability to integrate renewable fuels in the future and potentially qualify for NSW renewable energy certificates.
This commissioning milestone demonstrates how cogeneration and heat recovery can support practical, sustainable outcomes for large-scale food production, helping industrial sites improve efficiency while reducing their environmental impact.
