10MW gas power secured for a remote mining operation

24 August 2026

A move away from diesel to reliable, lower-cost, lower-emission on-site power.

Powering a remote mine has long meant one thing: diesel. Evo Energy Technologies has secured a 10MW gas power project that takes a different path, delivering reliable on-site power to a remote mining operation without the cost and emissions that come with running on diesel.

Why move off diesel

For remote operations, diesel is the default, but it is an expensive and unpredictable one. Fuel costs rise and fall with the diesel price, leaving operators exposed to a cost base they cannot control.

Moving to gas changes the economics. LNG provides a competitive cost of energy and a more stable fuel cost base, giving the operation reliable power it can plan and budget around. It also burns cleaner, reducing CO₂ emissions and significantly lowering local pollutants such as particulate matter and SOx.

The result is power that stacks up commercially, operationally, and environmentally.

The system

The project will utilise German engineered 2G AVUS 2000e units, powered by four MTU 20V4000 engines, delivering 10MW of continuous power. Delivery is scheduled for 2026.

Reliable gas power for Australian mining

Demand for gas generation continues to exceed available supply, and EvoET is increasingly the provider of choice for reliable gas power across the Australian mining market. This project is another example of gas generation providing a practical pathway to reliable, lower-emission power for remote operations.
